Back to the Normal

January 13, 2012 | {2 Comments}

So I am happy to inform everyone that your accounts have been restored in full, back to how they were exactly as of last Sunday. Things should be back to normal.

If you have any problems, please submit a ticket.

As far as locked accounts, your new password has been emailed out to you. You will need to change as soon as possible to prevent security issues.

SOME NEEDED CHANGES:

It has come to attention that some people have not respected the Terms of Service. I have been too lackadaisical in the past with enforcing the Terms of Service that you agreed to, as apart of being hosted by Carousel Hosting.
Please note that from now on, such breaches in contract will not be allowed. I will be monitoring and enforcing these conditions, especially for free hosted accounts. Failure to follow these requirements and restrictions will result in a suspended account or full termination immediately.
This includes, but is not limited to the following (for all free accounts)… See the Terms of Service and Conditions for more information.

  • Having a referring link posted back to Carousel Hosting at all times
  • Having your website up and running on time (approximately three months)
  • You should let me know when you are going on prolonged hiatus, are closing or moving
  • Illegal or inappropriate scripts on your website
  • Enforcing Carousel’s TOS with anyone hosted under you

With this in mind, I will be going through all listed accounts and doing a check to make sure everything is being followed. All accounts found in violation will be suspended.

I have also edited and reworked prices on the paid shared hosting packages and reseller hosting packages. The allotted disk space and bandwidth has also been recalibrated for many packages (You can always put in a request for more space.) I have been very generous with the space and bandwidth provided to free hostees.

This would also be a good time to reinforce that idea of full website backups. It is important, should anything happen, to keep at least one up to date backup of your website. Carousel Hosting is not responsible for lost files or items, although we will try as hard as possible to help you with such problems.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Deleted Accounts

January 12, 2012 | {2 Comments}

I just found out tonight that most of my hostee accounts have been deleted without my permission by my server/host in an act to “cleanse” the space of old/obsolete/dead websites. I had no knowledge of this beforehand…

I am extremely unhappy about this course of action.

Now, I will be posting close to live updates on this blog as I can, as I no longer have access to email you out updates.
I hope to be resolving these issues as soon as possible!!!

I apologize ten fold for any inconvenience that you have had or have gone through. I have been there with you the entire time. If you have lost any content that was not backed up, I am deeply sorry. This is an unforeseen problem, but it is your responsibility to properly maintain your website, be knowledgeable of any important updates, and properly back up all files.

I probably will be moving to a new server actually, now after this. I have yet to decide where though, as I also must decide what will I will choose. For now, things have fallen to an impasse. I will remain at this location until I have time (and money) to get everything running again.

Please reply to this post, or I can be reached at my personal email: cara[at]everimagine[dot]net if you have any questions. Stay with me, I am trying to get everything sorted out.

EDIT: Carousel Did Not Move

December 27, 2011 | {2 Comments}

EDIT – Janurary 9th
Ok, so I told everyone that we were all going to move. And I had prepared everyone in the short amount of time that I thought we had, to move. Well it turns out that it was all for nothing -_-;
My server actually did not require that we move. Had I known this was the final plan, it would have saved me (and probably a lot of you) some not-needed stress over Christmas and New Years. (Happy Holidays by the way! Go 2012!!!)

Frankly, being it the middle of the holidays, and my worry that not everyone would get my messages about the move, I have decided that it would be better to stay put. Perhaps in the future, I will move us all to a new server.

I apologize for the craziness and the stress that I have probably caused.
At the moment, your accounts will remain locked. I will be emailing out your new, reset passwords this week, so you may access your accounts and cPanels.

Thanks you for your patience!

I’m sorry to inform you that my server is going to be closing! So I will have to be finding a new one and then moving to it. This is very soon – I only found out a few days ago (Christmas Eve actually…) I am not happy with what I am forced to do. This is very unfortunate.

With this, I have decided to do a clean start. Take this as a chance to get a clean page and also do some major changes.

1. I have locked your accounts and changed the passwords so that we can properly move the files. Please do not try to do anything with your accounts.
2. All your accounts will be backed up and transferred to our new server.
3. If you wish to stay, please let us know as soon as possible! We will be taking this opportunity to go through all inactive hostees (on the free plans) and suspending any dead or inactive accounts, unless you contact us and say otherwise.
4. We will also be re-working our hosting plans. Your space and bandwidth may be altered. Please be aware of this.

If you wish to move to a new host, we will understand, but know that we still plan on having many of the hosting plans that you are on!
You have all been emailed this same information.

Please keep an eye out for new information.
I am currently on winter vacation and will not have the best internet (or email) access! I apologize…
I am going to try and make this as smooth of a transition as possible for all of us. It should be over as of Jan 12.

Just to Clear A Few Things Up

December 3, 2011 | Leave A Comment?

Recently we have been getting a lot of hosting applications for the free domain hosting plan. When hostees are asked for a valid domain, they say they haven’t registered one.

All of our hosting plans do not come with a domain!
A valid domain must be registered prior to application, unless you wish for Carousel Hosting to register a domain for you.
Although we offer free hosting, the domain will still cost you money. You may register a free Co.CC domain if you choose.

On another note, we have now added a Testimonials page! If you are currently hosted by us, or even are a previous hostee, and enjoy our services tell people about it! Submit a testimonial! We thank you for your appreciation!
